Avoid the “I’m boreds” this May with these only-in-New Orleans events. Pack up those little backpacks and head out for a month of fun.

Jazz Fest, May 1, 5-8

At the Jazz Fest Kids Tent, you'll find programs for kids every day, such as youth choirs, dance groups, puppet shows, plays, and more. You’ll find our post on Jazz Fest Tips here. Learn more about Jazz Fest and view entertainment lineup.

Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo, May 20-22

According to the Bayou Boogaloo website, at least 25% of festival goers bring at least one child to this fun festival on Bayou St. John. This year's lineup includes many of your favorite local groups, along with tons of food vendors and an art market. See complete music lineup.

Greek Fest, May 27-29

For nearly 50 years, families have been flocking to Greek Fest for Greek music, dancing, food, canoeing on Bayou St. John, and fun in the Athenian Playground. This special kids area includes the 24-foot-high Mount Olympus Climbing Wall and the Hercules Hammer where you can test your strength. You can also bounce in the inflatables, get your face painted, and get “crafty.” Kids don’t like gyros? No problem. They have hot dogs for picky eaters. Learn more.
