This November, why not make a multi-generational trek down to New Orleans? November is a wonderful month for strolling in New Orleans or taking a streetcar to the Garden District or City Park. Plus, you can get in some early Christmas shopping in the French Quarter, on Magazine Street or in the Arts/Warehouse District.

Armstrong Park will host the original Caribbean Carnival of New Orleans this November 1st and 2nd. This celebration of Caribbean cuisine, dance and music if fun for the whole family.
On November 2nd, head to Crescent Park for Creole and Cajun food, dance lessons, a mechanical bull, a gumbo cook-off, a Kids Zone and live performances by Dwane Dopsie, Rusty Metoyer, Wayne Singleton, Alphonse Ardoin, Koray Broussard, Harold Guillory, and Arthur Corbin with Shan Bailey.
On November 9th and 10th, head to Destrehan Platnation for their 52nd Annual Fall Festival. There will be pony rides, face painting, fall-themed arts and crafts, and even a bungee jump for the kids, along with Southern-style meals at the food court pavilion and, of course, live music.
Get dressed like a po-boy for this festival which honors New Orleans’ most beloved sandwich. The fun will take place on November 19th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this year and will feature live music, arts & crafts, and every kind of po-boy you can imagine. Come hungry, y’all.
The Saints will take on the Falcons this November 10th in the Dome. Make it fall your kids will remember!
Drive your car through a 25-acre wonderland of festive holiday lights draped in ancient live oak trees.
Celebration in the Oaks in
City Park is held nightly November 29-January 3. It’s a magical experience the whole family will love.
Along with the big game between Southern and Grambling on November 30th in the Caesars Superdome, the
Bayou Classic features a parade, a fan festival, the battle of the bands and more. It’s a great time for football fans, young and old.
